When I found people who were interested, as I was at the time and still am (avidly), in social and new media, I followed them (and still do). I was such a newbie – absorbed lots, asked lots of questions, shared the info I gleaned locally and online with enthusiasm.
Over the past year, this has changed a little, but not much. I find myself still in search of new information. I stick interesting, social and new media-related tweets in my Favorites and refer people there if they are looking for a recently-announced change in how Twitter operates, or a new app, or a workaround for a problem.
I still go to the public timeline as well, but less to find info about social media than to find oh, just… people who are interesting. I follow people who have interests similar to mine (wide-ranging) or who are teaching others about what they have passion for. Since I sell real estate and work for a brokerage (Real Living Realty Services), I also look for people in real estate that don’t complain but that have a good outlook on the business and on the world in general.
As an extrovert and an optimist, I tend to lean toward those who have similar views and eschew people who simply troll the ‘web to make trouble.
How does using Twitter enrich your life?
